The Helensburgh and Lomond Real Ale Festival 2017 will be held on Friday 19th May from 6.00pm until 11.00pm and Saturday 20th May from 12.00pm until 11.00pm latest (or until the beer runs out). Last year we ran out about 8:30-9pm so don’t leave it too late!
The festival is held in the grounds of Helensburgh Sailing Club in the picturesque Clydeside town of….Helensburgh. You can find directions on Google here.
Erm, not yet. Up till now we have always operated on the basis of entry on the door, on the day.
But we are working on this, so keep checking!
Entry is £6.00 per person per session (Friday and Saturday) which includes a commemorative pint glass and programme detailing all the ales, ciders, perries and gins on offer.
The festival is run on a token basis (no cash at the bar). Tokens are £ 1.60 each. Half pint of ale/cider/perry cost one token (a pint costs two tokens). Gin cocktails and Prosseco will be 3 tokens per drink.
We believe there is an ale for everybody but we do also believe in the freedom of choice, so we will also have ciders a perries, prosecco, a hand picked range of the finest Scottish gins and for the designated drivers a full range of soft drinks on offer.
Unfortunately due to licensing rules, no person under the age of 18 is be allowed on the Ale Festival premises even if accompanied by an adult. This includes infants.
Sorry, no-one under 18 is allowed in the event, including infants.
Yes! If you want to leave and come back you will be given a band which allows you to come and go as you please during the relevant session (Friday or Saturday).
Yes, entry is per person per session so you have to pay to enter again on the Saturday should you wish to come back.
It’s a lovely walk along the promenade but if you want to get there quickly, there is a FREE shuttle bus (the famous Beer Bus) from Helensburgh Central Train Station. It meets every train (half hourly).
